I am going along with Dave Boys and vote for kore at 1L. In checking with Lexpert, I found out the following. Playing kart leaving role as leave gives the most theoretical 7 and 8 letter bingo possibilities; however, if we draw an i or an e on our next turn, then this nullifies any advantage (see chart below). Given the number of i's and e's left in the bag, the probability is quite high that we will draw at least one of those tiles.
7 Letter Bingos 8 Letter Bingos role 441933
lart 270662
terr 291657
role + i 81267
role + e 38209
lart + i 139257
lart + e 179441
terr + i 89247
terr + e 79265

KOLA------ 465 RACKS KALE------ 216 RACKS KART----- 570 RACKS
KETO---- 240 RACKSKOEL----- 403 RACKS KORE----- 498 RACKS
Unfortuneately, this is out of a total of 8436 racks, so KART delivers one extra bingo every 117 games or so compared to KORE, assuming the board remains the same. yahoo.
Of course, the board is unlikely to remain the same. I think the worst harm John can do here without killing us (plays that kill us are not worth considering) would be a 6letter word at 15b, or a 5 at h15. Any 5 at h15 is gonna block all our 7 letter lanes, but will more than likely give us an E or I to play with, and if not then we probably picked one or more. I think if John hits that spot we pretty much gotta bingo back immediately, and the LART leave is WAYMORELIKELY to do so than any other 3 tile leave. Of course if neither his play nor our pick contain an E or i, it increases the chance that he will be inundated with them down the stretch, which may buy us some time.
btw seeing as John has left the room. we should probably play quickly and hope to win on time.

In sowpods of course, DOR at c12 looks like a nobrainer.
