I vote EX at 2N.

I figure the A and E to have about equal values here, and if I was winning I would play AX in a heartbeat for defensive considerations. Down a bingo I prefer to take my chances. John just played 5 tiles, and his chances of bingoing at 15b are pretty slim. Any 6 tile play there is gonna get him about 5 extra points on average than 5letter h11 plays, and will likely give us the option of starting a 7 letter bingo with a consonant.

EX also sets up potentially game winning EX tension plays from O1. In short lets play a more volatile board and take our chances.

Quicky analysis:

Score favors EX Leave about equal Board position favors EX IF losing, AX if winning.
