help intro Welcome to DOoM. If you know the buzzwords, DOoM is a networked textual virtual reality and you can skip the rest of this paragraph. This means that you, a `player' move through and interact with an imaginary world of objects and rooms by typing commands (e.g. `north' to go north, `take box' to pick up a box) and reading responses to your commands (e.g. `The box is too heavy.'). You're probably not here for the virtual reality experience, but rather because you've heard that you can play games here. To get started, you'll need to read several other help screens to learn the commands you can use. `help player1', `help player2' etc. list generally available commands; `help play1' etc. tell how to play games here; `help map1' etc. contain a map of the DOoM; and `help index' lists available help screens. If you forget what the appropriate command is in a situation, `help here' lists commands specific to your location or game state. See also: index map1 play1 player1
