Andrew got stuck behind a massive bicycle race and showed up just before his clock was about to start. Perhaps Ratttled, He attempted "educater" early vs Albert, despite the fact that I gave him a mnemonic for "educate" within the past week. (DANS- we have a mutual friend named Dan who is an educatOr.
Yesterday's eerie silence has been replaced by a 100 decibel heavy metal band playing Deep Purple covers right outside the door. Everyone except Mike is pissed off.
Peter gains a freebie with "irising", against Mike,who is too busy humming along with "Smoke on the Water" to care much.
Neatest scorecard award has been bestowed upon Peter, as his was the only one not covered in food. The crayon however, was a bit difficult to read.
Mike loses his turn and his dignity by playing the phony "deathmetal". NOW he's pissed off.
Jim survives a recount against Bernard to win by 5 and maintain his grip on first.
Looks like Shaun and Zev both won vs Fran and Ray respectively.
The band is taking a break so they can watch the various endgames.
The top four have all won their games this round.
The lead singer informs that Bernard missed "rehabbed" which would have defeated Jim.
A faint, yet pleasantly illegal aroma caresses the room.
Peter defeats Mike in a battle of 6-5s.
Albert sneaks by Andrew in the other 6-5 battle.
Mike essays "weeling" against Fran, who knows the meanings of the four letter words. Oh well.
The rock band has been replaced by a mad horde of screaming four-year-olds eating hot dogs and swearing.
Zev lays down "uncashed" against an unknowing Tim, gaining an extra turn.
Bernard mistakenly challenges "failings" vs Albert.
Ray esses "KYE" and has a cow. John benefits.
One of the little delinquents has let the air out of Bernard's tires. Shaun has been elected to administer the thrashing.
Mike desperately challenges "solaria elds " against Fran.
Children should not be allowed out of the house until they reach eighteen years of age, at which point they should not be allowed back in.
Peter downs Shaun by 26 to put them both at 8-5.
Fran beats Mike by 100 or so.
Jim beats Andrew to maintain sole possession of first.
Albert demolishes Bernard by 320 points.
Zev went 3 minutes over exactly and wanted only 20 points taken off because it did not say 3:01. No dice.
John keep on chugging away, beating Ray to go 9-4.
Mike is enamoured of Dina's yummy rice krispie squares.
Tim upsets Zev by 150.
The children have been kidnapped by aliens.
Zev is pissed that Tim challenged uncashed, despite the U setting him up for a 60 point Q play. Zev picked 6 vowels and played elsewhere.
The south end of the room has been taken over by a film crew shooting an upcoming episode of Baywatch. David Hasselhoff is WAY shorter in real life, and bears an uncanny resemblance to that Eddie the Eagle ski-jumping british guy. Pamela Sue Anderson is actually Fabio in drag.
Fran loses a turn for "corkings", obviously distracted by the flexing Haselhoff.
Bernard is playing Andrew, holding the following rack: JEVVLLL. Lucky Bernard gets to play another turn with that crap, having unsuccessfully contested "negronis"
A wave of fake salt water has poured over Zev's rack obliterating the top half of the 8 on his J tile. I have been asked to rule whether the J is now worth zero. I am checking the rulebook and will get back to you.
Zev's J is worth 8.
Albert challenged Jim's S hook of OBA, losing a turn.
Mike beats Shaun to maybe stay alive.
Andrew is creaming Bernard. Looks like 8 players still alive with 4 rounds to go.
Ray played an 11 vs Tim in a losing cause, extending "confer" with "ences".
Jim "thinks he's Geary" Nanavati rolls to 11-3, defeating Albert, who drops to 8-6.
Fran loses an endgame challenge to Peter, who played "tiros yups". Peter wins by 18 to go 9-5.
Andrew played the coolest word of the tourney sofar, "zaikai" to dump drek and score 20 en route to an 83 point victory over Bernard.
Zev beat John, scoring 411, according to at least witness.
ohboy crunchtime!
The chalet attendant has had to call security to expel a group of unruly seniors who refuse to leave the picnic area. Another group had booked that area in advance. I will let you know if things get ugly. By the way, this is really true.
No news on the seniors and no challenges or anything nteresting to report. i think I'll take a nap.
Mike has just lost a turn to Zev by phonying with "FOD"
Tim and Ray have won vs Fran and Bernard. Bernard has already ticked off the loss column in anticipation of next game. Sometimes it really isn't any fun.
Andrew has crushed Peter by at least 170.
Mike tried "derailer" vs Zev to no avail.
Jim wins again!!!!!
