By the way, simming shows that OUT is over two points (closer to 3pt.) better than any other play. NUTRIA is far behind. TUI and UT are closest. Since both players have just bingoed, the sim is at its most accurate because opponent has random rack. I've enjoyed seeing the different opinions, but no one has commented on or seems to have included simming in their opinion. I don't see any reason (it's my belief that a second "I" won't hurt you as much as some people think--and it's only a 25% chance in any event--and at least 18% of the time you'll bingo. If opponent plays ZEE you'll have about 100 potential bingos to play (playable that is, after the ZEE opens up another spot)) to change my opinion, but it would be nice for the group if someone else discusses their opinion in light of the sim. I still think OUT is the clear favorite. So what, what do I know?
Joe [David Boys] 3 points is nothing. The TRAIN leave gives us a 37% chance of bingoing next turn, and the RANT leave yields 28%. (based on actual bag contents) If we assume 50 points extra per bingo that extra 9% can be guestimated to have a sim value of 4.5 points. That means that 28% of the time TUI and OUT are equal, 9% of the time OUT is better, and TUI averages over 2 points better the rest of the time. This is BEFORE taking into account the fact that John's scoring chances will increase slightly on a board that we just opened with a bingo.
sticking with TUI
