Some tournaments have not enough posters and this one has too many! Vive la difference...

Judy Horn and Edie Berman cooperatively ran a wonderfully fun event this weekend on Cape Cod. There was such a supply of Halloween candy on hand that we still were enjoying it today! Severe rainstorms turned some of the less brave souls away from beach walking, but we were all thankful that it wasn't SNOW and that the winds were coming from the south. Today it felt positively tropical! I've only got information on those who won awards, so forgive the lack of full results--perhaps the organizers will post the rest once they catch up with all their paperwork.

Twelve Games (3 friday, 6 saturday, 3 sunday)

Division A (12 players)

Other tidbits of interest to anyone who has stayed awake long enough to get down here:

Tournament had 5 ties, which was thought to be unusually high.
I caught Mike Wolfberg snickering next to me at our table. Turns out that his opponent, Mark Berg, was sitting across from him in a sweatshirt covered in pictures of wolves. Only a Scrabble person would get why this is coincidentally funny. :) In case you don't get it, ask, I'll fill you in.
You might notice that Joey Mallick has a name similar to another scrabbler we know, Dave Mallick. Looks like he won't be a low intermediate for long!
Amazingly it is possible to play scrabble while the walls vibrate like woofers from the party next door! :)
Copious amounts of lemon water is very soothing on one's throat during long, warm tournament games. :)
