I would like to take issue with this argument. (Not with Marlon obviously - just the idea of cleaning up the source(s) before merger).

I am a SOWPODS advocate. I also would like a 'clean' source[1]. Trying to clean the sources before merging is the same as saying 'DON'T MERGE!'. OSPD has been around for a number of years, it has gone through a number of versions, why is it only now that people are talking of merging it with OSW is it so imperative that it gets cleaned? Ditto OSW.

This is without getting into what clean means - probably a very subjective operation.
