Let's see, John. It's kinda difficult to find the right word to really capture the essense of Glenn. Hmmmm. I just decided to pay no attention to the man behind the microphone. As a result, I had a really fun day, saw friends, played some great games, and enjoyed the ride there and back with you and Lisa. Indian food at Babur (my first time at that restaurant) was the icing on the cake, or should I say the cardamom on the rice.
This was my first tourney being one division below expert, and the day just couldn't have started out better. My very first rack was EFNORU?. She went first and played LEZ at 8G, I saw FOUNdER right away, which I played at 7B. She of course came back with a harmful HARM for 50 points!! at 8A. Quiz #1. what was my best play? (answer later) Two turns later I was sitting with AEELNSV with no place for LEAVENS, and was looking for a word staring with S. I then realized that I could hook ENS for ENSLAVE.
The finish was really tight. I was 5-0 after the round robin sub-group, with 2 people at 4 1/2, 1/2, and 2 more at 4-1. I lost the final two KOTH games dropping me down to 4th.
Bingos I played: FOUNdER, ENSLAVE, RESHAVE (which drew a challenge), TOLANES, RESINeD, STAR(T)LED, HEADIEr, ANOdIZ(E)S, RILLIER*, CHIDERS, ORATION, TAeNIAS, CANDiES.
My opponents were: BETtERS, ABOUNDS, RAI(N)OUTS, (C)OLoRING, GLOOmIER
