We are playing four games this morning, and four games this afternoon. The first afternoon game will be streamed live; the current plan is to have Helen Gipson (Sco) and Nigel Richards (NZL) to play at the electronic board, with Rachel Riley and John Chew commentating.

We are scheduled to have Spanish chess and Magic: The Gathering players in the room with us today; their scheduled start time of 9:00 has come and gone while the organizers gradually get set up. The chess organizer seems impressed with our player's punctuality, despite the fact that I had to start and run Mihai Pantis's (ROM) clock for three minutes.

Nigel Richards (NZL) has his first loss of the event, losing to Theresa Brousson (MLT) 430-404. The loss drops him to third place, 8-1 +965, four points behind Lukeman Owolabi (Sco) +969; Craig Beevers (Eng) is in first +1018.
