In Round 1, Wojciech Usakiewicz (POL) beats tournament novice Zaffar Mahmood (AUT) 509-271 to take the lead. Andy Gray (Eng) beats Nicky Huitson (Eng) 468-343, and Nuala O'Rourke (NIr) beats Ewa Kondracka (POL) 393-362.

Nuala's board features the bingoes GREMLIN, STILLER and ITERATED; Andy's THATCHED and RECOINED; and Wojciech is very prompt at squaring off his board into four 5x5 blocks of tiles.
