Director's call: Kibitzers trying to assist players in determining what to do with tiles found under table.

Ruling: players should calm down, kibitzers should refrain from interference, with both players' agreement, tiles should go back in bag.

Director's call: broken tile; player requests a random one from bag.

Director's call: broken tile; player requests a random one from bag. Tile fractured along side, replaced.

Director's call: opponent drew tile after hold called.

Ruling: In keeping with morning announcement, the onus is on the player calling hold to clearly communicate the hold to the opponent. If the opponent does not appear to understand the instruction, player should reiterate more clearly, using a physical gesture, and if necessary call the director before the tile is drawn. In the situation where a player says that s/he said hold and their opponent says that s/he did not hear this before drawing, the player will be deemed to have failed in their responsibility to communicate, and the challenge will be denied.

Director's call: May I start my missing opponent's clock?

Ruling: No, players may never start missing opponents' clocks; that is the Director's prerogative. And your opponent is not missing, he is still playing his last game.

Director's call: Is it too late to enter the Team Unity roto?

Ruling: The stated deadline for entering was the start of Round 5. It would not be fair for you to enter nine rounds after everyone else.

Director's call: May I start my missing opponent's clock?

Ruling: No, players may never start missing opponents' clocks; that is the Director's prerogative. And your opponent is not missing, he is still playing his last game.

Director's call: It's too quiet here, can you make the music louder?

Ruling: Sure, no problem. And thank you, fictitious player, for saying what we were all thinking.

Director's call: What about now, can I start his clock now?

Ruling: No, he's entitled to a break between games, and you're not the one to start his clock.
