I've heard Winter Zxqkj (USA) called a lot of things before, but "cheeky" is a new one. A lot of the buzz at the event is of course about the recently announced Prague Mind Sports Festival; there was an informal discussion around my desk over the tea break about the future of our game, the world championship, Scrabble as a Mind Sports Festival event, and Mind Sports International in general. This round, the race tightens up in Division A, with the two leaders losing their games, leaving Lukeman Owolabi (Sco) in first for the first time with 8-3, ahead on spread of Evan Cohen (ISR), Chinedu Okwelogu (NGA), Steve Polatnick (USA), Helen Gipson (Sco) and Jayne Mackenzie (NIr). The top three in Division B are 9-2: Maureen Hoch (ISR), Sammy Mangion (MLT) and Osaghaede Omijeh (NGA). |
