2013 Yokohama ST Commentary: Round 3

Board 1: Kien Hung Yeo (MYS) opens h7 CIG, Yoshihisa Itsubaki (JPN) replies 8f QUIN, and Henry hooks the -S for TOASTER double-doubled.

Board 2: after four plays each, Keiichiro Hirai (JPN) has a two-bingo lead over Isao Takemura (JPN). KC opened with h2 ATOMISE, and just played JELUTONg through an N.

Board 3: Tadao Takeda (JPN) has an early lead over Warodom Geamsakul (JPN). Takeda has bingoed FiLTERS, but let LEWN* go unchallenged. LEW (plural LEVA) LEWD LAWN LOWN seem the closest real words.

Board 4: subbing in for Tom Terasaki vs. Kunihiko Kuroda (JPN) is a Japanese novice player who goes by the name of Oil. Kuroda has gotten away with BARNERS* (BARRENS was playable), but just challenged off AO* (the Japanese word for the colour blue or green). Other challenges from that game: ROY* SUT* STORMERS OZ* OL* BEENS* MIT*.

Henry retains the lead, 3-0 +1101 ahead of KC +600. Kuroda is 2-1 +402 and Itsubaki +71.
