Last year's MSIO Champion, Chinedu Okwelogu (NGA), arrived only six minutes into the round, and lost only a minute or so from his clock. We're still waiting for David Eldar (AUS).

In the lead after the first round is Howard Wilde (Eng), with a 600-269 win over Mary Morgan (IRL). In second, Simon Gillam (Sco), who beat Albert Zammit (MLT) 505-233; and in third, Helen Gipson (Sco), who beat Marion Loewenstein (ISR) 456-246.
