A Pakistani woman and an Australian woman were playing this round. The Pakistani woman played F?LTERS, verbally declaring the blank as an I, which due to accent differences the Australian woman heard as an A. The Pakistani woman did not fulfil her obligation under the current WESPA rules to record the blank in writing; these rules grant the Australian woman the right in this case to designate the blank, which she did.

This seems fair to me: the Australian woman had made a play assuming that she had heard the blank as an A; the play would have been obviously phoney if it had been an I.

Our webserver has some stuck CGI processes resulting in annotated games either being very slow or unavailable. I apologize for the poor service, have submitted a tech support request to my ISP, and will look at relocating the games for the weekend.
