We thank Paul Allan (found wandering the streets of Bangkok on holiday) for stepping in to annotate Board 2 this round.
Nigel Richards (NZL) wins a third game, 405-371, against Siu Hean Cheah (SGP) and there is some discussion over the lunch break about whether or not the TSH pairing software should have Gibsonized him. With Nigel now at 21-6 +1119 and two players two games behind with more spread, Pakorn Nemitrmansuk (THA) 19-8 +1594 and Siu Hean Cheah (SGP) +1070, it's a tricky situation. If Nigel plays Pakorn in a KOTH match, then it's possible that both Pakorn and Cheah could win their next two matches and displace Nigel from the top two finalist positions; so the decision was made not to Gibsonize him. Note however that if he were Gibsonized, there would be no way for both Pakorn and Cheah to catch him, because they would have to play each other next round.
