We move this morning to the main convention space atop the Siam Paragon complex, to be joined by the usual 6,000 students, royal visit, marching bands, pomp, ceremony, etc. I may be a little busier today than in the past couple of days, as I will be monitoring the deployment of TSH in 8 student divisions of about 100 players each this weekend. I may be a little drier or terser as well, as I was setting up until 1:00 last night, slept from 2:00-4:00, then had to answer a phone call from home, then slept again from 4:30-6:30 before coming here to start responding to feature requests and bug reports while being serenaded by the marching bands rehearsing for the arrival of Her Royal Highness. We start about 3 minutes late, with about a third of the field missing. I was surprised at how easy it was to make my way into the building through the throngs; not particularly surprised at the number of tardy players. Director's Call: Overdraw, new tiles not seen. Ruling: Opponent chooses from X+1 tiles. Director's Call: Overdraw, new tiles not seen. Ruling: Opponent chooses from X+1 tiles. Different tables here, wider and more comfortable. None collapsed yet. We have a new player joining us this morning, Sujitt Ungpakorn (THA), who has kindly offered to play to make our numbers even. To make up for this, one local player, Nattawuth Chinrungroj (THA) is missing today, keeping us odd. Our Internet landline has not been working all morning, and the WiFi is overloaded and unusable from the large number of visitors using it, so I'll type offline for a while and upload when I can. Director's call: A tile is discovered in the bag after final tiles have been exposed and a score agreed to, but the score slips is unsigned. Ruling: Under WESPA rules, since the tile was discovered before the score slip was signed, it is returned to the game and play resumes. |
