Back from lunch (crab curry) and on to the last three king-of-the-hill rounds.

Director's call: My opponent is going second and insists on using tiles that he has manufactured; can we use different ones?

Ruling: Not unless there is something wrong with the tiles.

Director's call: If I forfeit my right to go first, can I choose which tiles we use?

Ruling: No!

Thacha Koowirat's (THA) loss just before lunch keeps the event interesting, as he has only a two-game lead over the field, and is not yet Gibsonized.

Three players have 18 wins: Helen Gipson (Sco), Pakorn Nemitrmansuk (THA) and Vannitha Balasingam (MYS). An all-female finals match is not impossible.

Six players have 17 wins and an outside chance: Jakkrit Klaphajone (THA), Weera Saengsit (THA), Andrew Fisher (AUS), Ming Hui Hubert Wee (SGP), Taewan Sutthasin (THA) and Goutham Jayaraman (IND).

Director's call: Blank not recorded on paper, opponent makes play not consistent with originally intended blank.

Ruling: players are cautioned that all blanks must be recorded, but that director will use his discretion in this case to apply 3.8 (d) even though the blank was not properly declared, and permit the play to be withdrawn without penalty and another play made in its stead.

Director's call: Above opponent accuses players at adjacent table of communicating original blank player inappropriately.

Ruling: There is no clear evidence that this took place. All involved are reminded that this is a game, not a matter of life and death. One event staff member is stationed at table in case of future accusations.

I have just received a USB stick full of recorded games from earlier rounds, and posted 20 of them ranging from Round 3 to Round 23.

I will post the finals myself live; Rounds 24-27 will likely go up when I receive them after the event.

High Word Prize entries this round: Tanasak Suphaphibunkun (THA) EQUALED (103) vs. Olga Visser (AUS); Alastair Richards (AUS) SATIRIZE (114) vs. Odette Carmina Rio (PHL).

Thacha Koowirat (THA) beats Helen Gipson (Sco) and is Gibsonized into the finals.
