Nigel Richards (NZL) vs. Graham Haigh (Eng) at the feature board this round, and I'm having to backfill commentary as I spent the entire round doing voiceover work on the game's live video stream. MSI Web TV Producer Siobhan Robbie suggested that she could cohost the voiceover, which worked out well, giving listeners an alternation of voices, and steering me at times from what might otherwise be too dry an exposition of Scrabble strategy to an explanation of its basics. Nigel wins 512-408, and is now undefeated through 11 games, and has just broken the thousand-point spread mark with a +1017. Now three games behind him are Alastair Richards (AUS) and Weibin Toh (SGP), both World Youth Scrabble Championship finalists. Top-rated Conrad Bassett-Bouchard (USA) is another half-game behind at 75-3.5 +390. |
