Seen on boards by Craig Beevers this round: HAEREDES SPUNKED EXIMIOUS ROTENONE.

I decided to take it easy for a round, so I pulled up a chair by Adam Logan (CAN) and Nigel Richards (NZL) and asked if I could watch them play. As usually happens in such cases, the game was not particularly interesting, ending in a blowout win for Adam. They both claimed the boringness of the game was intentional. Incidents of note during this Board 1 game:

Adam opens with consecutive natural bingos TENSIBLY and LARYNGES, and follows in turn 4 with NUBiLOSE after Nigel's DEMOCRAT through an E, and later a fourth bingo, TENIOID. Ironically, had Nigel gone second and not started the game, he would have bingoed HORRIBL-Y or HORRIBL-E to anything Adam might have played from EILNSTY; this proves that Nigel is not psychic, or he would have started off by passing his turn rather than playing BROIL.

An "H" tile went missing during the game, but was found under the board. As I put the tile onto Adam's rack where it belonged, Nigel jokingly asked if it was the "G", referring back to an infamous incident at the 2011 Warsaw WSC. No strip searches here!

There will be a photo of my annotator's log of the game.

At the end of this round, Nigel at 15-2 +901 leads Alastair Richards (AUS) 12-5 +1212 by three games, with Adam half a game back at 11.5-5.5 and only +278. Behind them are four players on 11-6: Kevin McMahon (IRL), Rik Kennedy (NIr), Weibin Toh (SGP), Graham Haigh (Eng).
