We have a long day today: the last seven rounds of the 27-round preliminary, followed by the 3-round finals. It's going to be a tight schedule, as we have a hard deadline for the end of the day.

I've been corrected concerning the optimal publicity outcome for this event. It's not a Thai-Thai finals, but rather a Thai-foreigner match, with of course the Thai player winning. An additional concern now is that Pakorn Nemitrmansuk (THA) just won his game this round, keeping him in solid contention for the finals, and given how slowly he plays (he turned in his result five minutes after everyone else), it could affect the tournament schedule.

My own worry is that we haven't set aside any time for moving our gear over to the stage, and will have to do this while entering Round 27 results. Fortunately, there's no separate breakout room for the finalists. They'll play on the stage next to the big board. I wonder how loud the audience will be.

Charnwit Sukhumrattanaporn (THA) defeats Helen Gipson (Eng) 495-373 and keeps a two-game lead, knocking Helen down to ninth place. Pakorn and Jason Katz-Brown (USA), playing side by side at Table 2, stay apace with Charnwit, beating Siu Hean Cheah (SGP) and Komol Panyasophonlert (THA) respectively. Three games back and not yet out of the running at 14-7 are Ayorinde Saidu (NGA), Nigel Richards (NZL), Charnrit Khongthanarat (THA), Panupol Sujjayakorn (THA), Lukeman Owolabi (NGA) and Helen.
