Bob Jackman (AUS) was quite pleased to report that he played MEDICANT against Matte Dunn (AUS) for 167. We're not keeping track, but it's likely the high score so far; in my experience players who are not World Champions tend to come up to mention plays over 150 points.

If say David Eldar (AUS) were to beat Nigel Richards (NZL) 439-384 this round (as I believe happened), it would take a shot of truth serum to get either of them to talk about what happened. Nigel drops to an astonishing 17th place, and as the sole New Zealand representative, his 60% winning percentage is equal to that of the Americans (Sam Kantimathi (USA) and Jason Katz-Brown (USA)) and the Philippine team Odette Carmina Rio (PHL) and Antonio Malonzo (PHL), well behind Team Singapore's 70%: Ming Hui Hubert Wee (SGP), Siu Hean Cheah (SGP), Tony Sim (SGP) and Kian Boon Liew (SGP).

In other news of the bizarre this round, four games managed to take longer to finish than Pakorn Nemitrmansuk's (THA) 459-352 victory over Charnwit Sukhumrattanaporn (THA), a rematch of last year's finals. I have no idea how Pakorn managed to play so quickly.

We will finish today's games with a rematch of the 2003 WSC finals between the only remaining undefeated players, Pakorn Nemitrmansuk (THA) and Panupol Sujjayakorn (THA). After this round, we all head over to the Novotel for a reception.
