Amnuay Ploysangngam (THA) and Worasit Suksansumran (THA) finished their game in ten minutes, so that Amnuay could finish getting ready for tonight's reception. Amnuay won 403-388. The Pakorn Nemitrmansuk (THA) vs. Panupol Sujjayakorn (THA) game at Board 1 is surrounded by a throng of about a dozen players enjoying the show. The game started off slowly in a lower triangular formation, then exploded wide open when Pakorn finally bingoed into the triple lane and Panupol very nearly had a triple-triple reply but settled for a regular bingo. Panupol Sujjayakorn (THA) ends up winning by 38 points, and is the sole undefeated player. Behind Panupol are five players with one loss: Pakorn, Ming Hui Hubert Wee (SGP), Charnwit Sukhumrattanaporn (THA), David Eldar (AUS) and Siu Hean Cheah (SGP). (I apologize for an earlier version of the report, based on an incorrectly annotated game, which gave the win to Pakorn.) Updates will be paused for a little while during the reception, and will resume late tonight with more photos, a little more commentary and the remaining games. ... I've posted the remaining games, and am running Quackle championship analyses for posting a little later. The rest of today's photos and comments about the reception will probably get posted tomorrow morning. |
