Helen Gipson (Sco) pulls through however, beating Tony Sim (SGP) 447–387 to retain her lead over lunch. Chinedu Okwelogu (NGA) beats Kevin Synnott (Eng) 491–305, dropping Craig down to third place by three points of spread. Theresa Brousson (MLT) loses 379–479, her fourth straight game without a blank; she has lost all four. She has drawn six out of a total of 22 blanks so far this tournament; there is a 2.6% chance of having such poor luck. Jim Lyes (Eng) beats Ami Tzubery (ISR) 381–304, now the biggest upset of the event, overcoming a 591-point rating differential. Division BDaniel Milton (USA) wins 403–351 over Eileen Meghen (IRL) and is now 11–0 +1303. Mario Saliba (MLT) also continues to win, beating Joe Caruana (MLT) 469–312, and is the only 9–2.
