This day has gone surprisingly quickly. It's hard to believe this was already the ninth round, and that we only have one more to go. I'm just starting to fall into a comortable routine.

Division A

The top two leaders win their games and open up a slightly wider lead. Chinedu Okwelogu (NGA), 392–377 over third-place Siu Hean Cheah (SGP), is now 13–3 +510. Helen Gipson (Sco), 516–426 over seventh-place Craig Beevers (Eng), is now 12½–3½5 +882. In third place is Howard Wilde (Eng), moving up from fourth, with a 11–5 record. Right behind Cheah in fifth is Evan Cohen (ISR), on 10½ wins and less spread.

Howard has been on a six-game winning streak, climbing up from 13th place, says Makbul Manji.

Two players managed to score more than 450 points and lose this round, Mohammad Sulaiman (ARE) 464–519 to Sam Kantimathi (USA), and Theresa Brousson (MLT) 474–485 to Howard Wilde (Eng).

Division B

In this division, the top three all win their games and move up in lockstep. Andy Gray (Eng) 419–284 over Dominic Borg (MLT); Mario Saliba (MLT) 464–332 over Moira Fenech (MLT); and Daniel Milton (USA), breaking his four-game losing streak, 433–256 over Anna Borg (MLT).
