First results: Gerald Davids (ZAF) 403 Ruth MacInerney (Eng) 356, long before anyone else. Then Albert Zammit (MLT) 364 Joe Caruana (MLT) 250, about 30 minutes into the round.

Division A

Theresa Brousson's (MLT) back to drawing no blanks, but eked out a 421–412 win anyway against Esther Perrins (AUS).

We had our second tie game, Evan Cohen (ISR) and Siu Hean Cheah (SGP) at 358.

Craig Beevers (Eng) loses 347–477 to Helen Gipson (Sco), and falls to third, while Helen rises to second. Chinedu Okwelogu (NGA) regains the lead for the first time since Round 6, with a narrow 434–421 win over Mohammad Sulaiman (ARE). The top six players now have differing numbers of wins: Chinedu 11, Helen 10½, Craig 10, Mohammad 9, Cheah 8½.

Division B

Daniel Milton (USA) loses a second straight game, a blowout to Phyllis De Castro (ISR) 537–346. This time, Mario Saliba (MLT) and Andy Gray (Eng) are able to capitalise, with 484–316 and 454–283 wins over Angele Andrews (MLT) and Nancy Alroy (ISR) respectively, bringing them to within a game of the leader.
