Division A

Chinedu Okwelogu (NGA) and Siu Hean Cheah (SGP) played their final game early, finishing just as everyone else was starting their own last games. The game attracted a crowd of about 20 players, who were enthralled, following along as I typed both sides of the game into Quackle (while doing data entry and pairings). The game was close enough that Quackle gave Cheah a 30% chance to win even with about ten tiles left in the bag, but Chinedu had the right ones, knew what to do with them, and prevailed. Congratulations to the fifth MISO champion, Chinedu "Sidespin" Okwelogu.

Evan Cohen (ISR) won his Board 2 game over Howard Wilde (Eng) 391–375, not enough to unseat Cheah from second place, but enough to give him third.

Jackie McLeod (Eng) waited around to see if she would win the rating prize, but in the end was edged out by Charles Micallef (MLT) on spread.

Division B

First result in this round in this division was Dominic Borg (MLT) 449 over Mary Morgan (IRL) 384.

Another early result was Andy Gray's (Eng) 382–307 win over early leader Daniel Milton (USA), giving Andy the divisional championship. Mario Saliba (MLT) beats Ovidiu Tamas (ROM) in a big game, 474–331, bringing him to second place, and relegating Daniel to third.

Nancy Alroy (ISR) won the rating prize, finishing in fifth place overall and almost making it into the top money.
