CHAMPIONSHIP

Nigel Richards (NZL) has worked his way up from the bottom of the field to the middle, and is amusing himself by seeing how many consecutive 600+ games he can play. This round's 612-417 win against Nuala O'Rourke (NIr) makes it three, giving him a 9-0 +1616 record so far.

Nicky Huitson (Eng) and Weibin Toh (SGP) are playing on the electronic board this round. We are trying to test the software that should let the board automatically generate Quackle-style .gcg files; the software crashed on launch this time however, and we're going to wait for the end of the round to try to reboot the computer hidden under the table.

Toh wins 477-305 to stay in second place, 8-1 +889.

Theresa Brousson (MLT) loses an unwinnable game 418-451 to drop to fourth place 7-2 +635 behind Shanker Menon (IND) 8-1 +748.

Dan Sandu (ROM) wins the closest game of the event so far, 376-375 against Wojciech Usakiewicz (POL). That makes Dan 1-1 -4 for the morning.

RECREATIONAL

Suzanne Dundas (NLD) finally loses her first game, to her husband Paul Dundas (NLD), 413-364. Peggy Fehily (DEU) wins her game, which closes the gap between Suzanne and Peggy and Paul to only one game.

Suzanne is averaging 418 points per game; Nancy Alroy (ISR) is averaging 412.
