Until this round, the closest games had been two-point wins; this round, three results in a row come in with one-point spreads. What are the odds? At Board 2, Helen Gipson (Sco) plays Howard Wilde (Eng) for a second time, and also wins, 484–453, retaining second place.

The two players who had been trailing by one game played each other, and Mikki Nicholson (Eng) beat Siu Hean Cheah (SGP) 538–445, so now Mikki is alone at 13–5. Cheah and Tony Sim (SGP) follow on 12–6.
