No live video this round. Jim Wilkie is trying to offer as wide a range as possible of players at the live video table. At the beginning of each round, he moves a table number from its usual place to the video table, then moves it back at the end of the game. This round though, the players, perhaps wise to the scheme, all started their games before he could choose a game to transmit.

The first tea break of the day takes place after this round, so there should be plenty of time to choose the video game. We play a very civilised eight-game schedule in two-game sets, with breaks for tea, lunch, and more tea. The faster players are beginning to gather now in the tearoom, at :40 past the hour, waiting for the tea to arrive.

Geoff Cooper (Eng) reports that he thought he had his game won against Nuala O'Rourke (NIr) this round, when he bingo-ed DOGFACE with three in the bag; those three however were O, V, and an unplayable Q, so he lost 373-435.

Howard Wilde (Eng) finally loses a game, 363-329 to Esther Perrins (AUS), who takes the lead with nearly double his spread, +1223 to his +677, both 7–1. Behind them are now six players on 6–2: Craig Beevers (Eng), Tony Sim (SGP), Helen Gipson (Sco), Siu Hean Cheah (SGP), Theresa Brousson (MLT) and Sam Kantimathi (USA). Their spreads range from +707 down to +110. Simon Gillam (Sco) is still leading Class B, 5–3 +265, right ahead of Nuala O'Rourke (NIr) atop Class C, 5–3 +250.
