The top five boards are the last to report in, leaving us on tenterhooks as we await the lunch break. Mikki Nicholson's (Eng) game with Helen Gipson (Sco) finishes first. Mikki's 11-game undefeated streak comes to an end with a 431–381 loss.

Siu Hean Cheah (SGP) and Craig Beevers (Eng) are recounting what looks like a 464–457 game. Final score: 466–461 in Cheah's favour. Craig got away with UNDERTIPS* through the D and the I; Cheah couldn't risk the five-point penalty for a failed challenge.

That brings third-place Cheah and fourth-place Helen one win closer to first-place Mikki and second-place Craig, raising Craig's chances to about 3:1, and keeping Cheah and Helen's hopes around the 100:1 level. The top two will play each other in Round 29 after lunch, as will the next two. With six more players two games behind Helen at 17–11, tsh will likely pair the top four KOTH for the rest of the afternoon, unless one or more players are Gibsonized, or someone wins an unexpectedly large number of games.
