And to answer again why Marion Loewenstein (ISR) is playing the middle of the field, it's because with the right tiles, she can beat them. She crushed Geoff Cooper (Eng) 425–340, who has beaten a player in the top ten.

Gerald Davids (ZAF) scores his first 500+ game of the event, with a 508–270 win over Eileen Meghen (IRL).

Mikki Nicholson (Eng) has a 680-point spread lead over Helen Gipson (Sco), but they aren't playing each other a third time yet, so Helen has a chance to overtake Mikki. Mikki plays Sam Kantimathi (USA) over at the Sam Board (#5), and wins 458–349; but Helen Gipson (Sco) beats Feargal Weatherhead (IRL) 471–362 to stay close.

Third-place Craig Beevers (Eng) and fourth-place Tony Sim (SGP) also avoid falling back, remaining one game behind with wins over Mohammad Sulaiman (ARE) and Esther Perrins (AUS) respectively.

Simon Gillam (Sco) has worked his way into the top ten, currently in eighth place and in the lead in Class B. Down in Class C, the four top players are in 20th through 22nd place: Ovidiu Tamas (ROM) 12–10 -632, Brid Ni Bhriain (IRL) 11½–10½ -339, and Nuala O'Rourke (NIr) and Dave Hoskisson (Eng) tied on 11–11– +236.
